By looking on online, the only suspects I could find were deer, wabbits and squirrels. It's none of them. So, it's great find out that it's probably rats! At least now I know what I have to do. Sorry, ratitos, it's Sayonara time!

Re: The Rat And The Rose

Ha! That's awesome.

I think cats are smart enough that something wiggling and alive would get priority - they prolly figure out the rose will still be there when they finish chasing the rat.

Plus, you know, more excitement! :)

Re: The Rat And The Rose

LOL! Our cat Henry beheads roses, perhaps we should set him up with the rat, they could start interspecies peace talks :)

Re: The Rat And The Rose

Exactly like a monkey. I couldn't believe it, either. It was actually amazing :)
I wonder how much we don't know about rats. Animals are shockingly lovely at times.

Re: The Rat And The Rose

oh wow, cool! So it wasn't just a freak occurrence. Well that's one thing.

But hang on a tick - the rat you saw was swinging?!??! Like a monkey???

Oh man, that's.. that's incredible.

I can barely even imagine how they'd do that. That's so frickin' awesome!!

Re: The Rat And The Rose

Ahh! I've seen a rat do the exact same thing! Up until this moment, I hadn't come across anyone else who had done so, or even heard of it - but I knew what I saw. This particular animal in question actually swung from branch to branch (they were flexible and low-hanging) until I screamed in surprise/delight when I realized what I was watching, whereupon it promptly scrambled down and out of sight.

Re: The Rat And The Rose

That definitely strikes me as the most likely explanation :)

Re: The Rat And The Rose

maybe it was taking it to it's rat girlfriend

Re: The Rat And The Rose

*grin* thanks..
